Add or remove seats on your membership
Change the number of seats on your Proworking membership: add seats with a prorated charge, remove unassigned seats for account credit, or schedule the change for the end of the term. Explains why you can't go below the number of assigned people and why the Change seats button is missing.

You can change how many seats your membership has. HUB shows the charge or credit before you confirm.
Before you start
- You need permission to manage memberships.
- The membership must be active (confirmed).
- If you don't see Change seats or Add seat, your membership can't be changed online. Contact Client Services.
Change your seat count
- Select Membership in the sidebar and open the membership.
- Open the Seat tab.
- Under Quick actions, select Change seats.
- Use the minus and plus buttons to set the new seat count.
- Under When should this change apply?, choose Immediately or End of current term.
- Review the summary, then select the confirm button, for example Add 2 seats or Remove 1 seat.
- HUB shows "Seats updated successfully", or that the change is scheduled for the end of your term.
Immediately or end of term?
- Immediately: added seats are charged now for the rest of the term. Removed seats return account credit.
- End of current term: no charge or credit today. Your next invoice uses the new seat count.
Warning: Choosing Immediately replaces any seat change you scheduled earlier. HUB warns you before you confirm.
Why can't I remove more seats?
You can't go below the number of people already assigned. To free an assigned seat, first remove that person on the Seat tab. See Manage who uses your seats.
If you see Add seat instead
Some memberships show Add seat instead of Change seats. These can only add seats:
- Select Add seat.
- Choose how many seats to add.
- Select Continue to payment.
- Complete the payment on the secure checkout page. You return to your membership afterwards.
